This is also why free time/quiet time is HUGE for us. 5: Dinner 6: Bath 7: Bedtimeĭuring this time, since we both work from home, Zack and I are planning on “tag teaming” and while one of us works, the other will be playing with the kids. I’ll set up an activity of the day (watch my stories for what we’re doing!) and when that’s complete, they get independent play (and tablet some days) while we make dinner. 3:00: Movement (yoga, swing, outside) 3:30: Snack 4:00: Art/ Free time. This is when we’ll let them play on a tablet or watch a movie some days. The kids don’t nap anymore, but they’ll do independent play. It’s the best! I shared a ton of our favorite sensory toys and activities in this post! 10:30: Snack and outside time. The kids LOVE these! If you have a sensory lover, these are hugely important! I first learned about these from Sam’s SLP. I love to make easy sensory bins, filled with dry oats or rice or beans and spoons, toys, etc. Sophie has no idea, and she is going to freeeeeak haha! Okay, on to the schedule! For a printable PDF of the below schedule, click here.ħ-8: Wake up and eat breakfast (clean up our own dishes) 9:30: Calendar time (discuss what day it is, how the weather is today, and look at our visual schedule) 9:45: Table time. I know some days will include tablet time and a movie somewhere in there (probably during quiet time!), especially since Frozen 2 was just released on Disney+. ![]() Feel free to download and print it out for yourself, and share if you like! This is a guide, to create some structure and predictability in our days, as I’ve come to realize both myself and my kids (I’d hazard to say, all children!) thrive on some sort of routine! So here’s ours. All this to say, I’ve created a little schedule we’ll be following each day, to moreso keep our sanity and some semblance of “normalcy” in this very not normal time. :) I saw a meme that said, imagine if this was 2000 and not 2020, we’d all be watching Oregon Trail on our parents computer using the broadband internet. I’m looking at the bright side, and spending more time as a family is definitely number one. ) And with schools being closed, well, I guess I’ll be getting a crash course in homeschooling, after all! We’ll be staying at home and of course spending time in nature- a safe distance from others, that is. It is absolutely of highest importance that we do our part to halt the spread of the coronavirus and protect those who are most vulnerable. I know this is an unprecedented time that can be full of anxiety and fear, but I also feel like we’re all in this together, and we can do this. ![]() ![]() Hey guys!
